{"id":771,"date":"2026-07-09T13:30:28","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lhft.tf.fau.de\/?page_id=771"},"modified":"2026-07-09T13:30:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:30:28","slug":"fasersensorik-labor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.lhft.tf.fau.de\/en\/fasersensorik-labor\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiber Sensing Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our Fiber Sensing Laboratory at LHFT provides an environment for the development and investigation of fiber-based sensing systems across the C- and L-band wavelength range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lab brings together a range of optical and photonic hardware: narrowband and broadband laser sources, fiber-coupled components like couplers, circulators, and polarizers, as well as electro-optic devices such as Mach-Zehnder Modulators. A versatile range of detectors\u2014 from simple photodiodes to high-resolution spectrometers \u2014 supports measurements across a wide range of applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside our optical instrumentation, the lab houses a set of telecommunications equipment, including hundreds of kilometers of spooled optical fiber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using this infrastructure, we design and build demonstrators and experimental setups for FBG-based and backscattering-based sensing for temperature, strain and other parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interested in working with optical fiber sensors?
