As part of a cooperation project with various scientific and industrial partners, the modelling of sensor elements and sensor networks as digital twins is being investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for a graduate in \u2018Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology\u2019, \u2018Computational Engineering\u2019 or \u2018Information and Communication Technology\u2019 or related study programmes to support the modelling and simulation activities as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further development and implementation of a digital twin for optical networks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modelling and simulation of various components in optical transmission and measurement systems (optical fibres, measuring devices, optical amplifiers, &#8230;)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration on software components for data processing, storage and visualisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Web development, e.g. backend frameworks, APIs, &#8230;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Database development<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Programming tasks as part of daily laboratory operations, e.g.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development of control and evaluation scripts for measuring devices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with network and system configurations in the laboratory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Web-based) applications for controlling, monitoring or displaying measurements and measurement data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Very good knowledge of programming, especially in Python<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good knowledge of web development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic understanding of databases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in familiarising yourself with IoT and communication protocols (e.g. MQTT, Redis, Celery or comparable technologies in combination)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience or interest in physical modelling with Python<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reliable, structured, independent way of working and enjoy interdisciplinary tasks between software development, simulation and laboratory work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work in a team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send enquiries and applications to Prof. Bernhard Schmauss <a href=\"mailto:Bernhard.Schmauss@fau.de\">Bernhard.Schmauss@fau.de<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the field of photonic sensor technology and digital twins.
