{"id":423,"date":"2026-02-17T09:32:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T08:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lhft.tf.fau.de\/?p=423"},"modified":"2026-02-17T09:32:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T08:32:19","slug":"hiwi-bereich-photonik-faseroptische-sensorik-ab-bachelorlevel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lhft.tf.fau.de\/en\/2026\/02\/17\/hiwi-bereich-photonik-faseroptische-sensorik-ab-bachelorlevel\/","title":{"rendered":"Student assistant (HiWi) in the field of photonics\/fiber optic sensor technology, bachelor&#8217;s degree level or higher"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To support our photonics laboratory, we are looking for a student assistant to assist us with practical laboratory work and the development and implementation of experimental setups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The area of responsibility could include, among other things:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organization and optimization of the laboratory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setup, conversion, and adjustment of optical systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with experimental work in the field of fiber optic sensor technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Programming for controlling measuring devices, especially with Python<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microcontroller programming (e.g., Arduino, STM32, or comparable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designing printed circuit boards (circuit diagram and layout)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mechanical design of simple components and assemblies in CAD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General support activities in laboratory operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current bachelor&#8217;s or master&#8217;s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, physics, or a related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in experimental work and the practical implementation of technical issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initial experience in some of the following areas is desirable:<ul><li>Optics \/ photonics \/ fiber optics<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Python programming<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Microcontroller programming<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>CAD design<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PCB design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Independent, reliable, and structured way of working<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A certain degree of manual dexterity and organizational skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics and take on responsibility independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We offer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work in an active research environment in the field of photonics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical experience with modern optical measurement and sensor systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A varied range of tasks with a high degree of practical relevance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexible working hours, easily compatible with your studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested, please send a short application with your resume and a brief description of your previous knowledge and interests to lhft-photonics-positions@fau.de, referring to this job advertisement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To support our photonics laboratory, we are looking for a student assistant to assist us with practical laboratory work and the development and implementation of experimental setups.
